Product Care Instructions

We do our best to make sure all Silverwood Studio products arrive in tip top shape, so here’s some tips to make sure your products stay looking as awesome and fabulous for as long as possible.

Acrylic

  • Acrylic is safe to use outdoors, and is very UV resistant. However, some colours may discolour after extended periods of sun exposure.

  • Avoid contact with oily products when handling (moisturiser, sunscreen etc) - this can warp, discolour and change the texture of the acrylic.

  • Do not bend or force the acrylic - it can snap.

  • To keep the acrylic shiny and free from fingerprints you can buff the surface with a clean jewellery polishing cloth or microfibre cloth.

  • Do not use any chemicals or solvents to clean acrylic - use water only.

  • All acrylics, especially Mirror acrylics scratch easily, and if they get wet the mirrored backing may start to peel.

Jewellery

  • Do not drop or handle roughly.

  • Avoid contact with water.

  • Make sure not to get jewellery caught on seatbelts, body bags or on hair as this can damage or break the pieces.

  • Keep your jewellery somewhere safe and out of sunlight when not being worn,

  • Handle earring posts gently, and remove earrings carefully.

  • Our earring hardware may tarnish if it gets wet. If this happens, make sure to dry it straight away, and let it air dry to reduce the chance of tarnish.

  • It is not recommended to sleep is any wooden or acrylic jewellery.

Wood

  • Avoid contact with water - the wood may swell, warp, discolour or start to grow mould if not dried properly. If water contact occurs, make sure to thoroughly dry and air dry.

  • Do not use any chemicals or solvents to clean - a microfibre cloth  and a duster should do the trick.
